Months have gone by since the glorious return of College Football 25, which means we’ve all (hopefully) had enough time to dissect the game enough to develop our own likes and dislikes. Everyone has their own preferences and has their own expectations for the return of this game, so we all like and dislike different things – so don’t come for me (unless it’s the comment section).
After seeing many posts in this College Football Facebook group I am in, and various posts across social, I have come across an idea, why not come together to compile a shortlist of things that if we could talk to the developers/producers of EA Sports NCAA Football directly, what would we tell them we’d like to include for next year’s release? Believe it or not, there is someone that reads websites and blogs like ours here at Four Verts, so let’s have some fun and try to stir the pot early for next year’s game.
The good news is that many of these appear to at least be in consideration for next year’s game. Earlier today, some videos showed up with some insight into next year’s game. Here’s what they have to say:
Now, here’s what I want.
High School in Road To Glory
As I’ve mentioned in past articles when the game was first released, the lack of story prior to selecting your first college of choice really takes out a lot of the fun of Road To Glory. I’m not saying it needs to be a full-blown Friday Night Lights mini-movie, but let us work through a senior year in high school before making our decision. It wouldn’t be hard at all to reach an agreement with Rivals Yahoo Sports!, or a 24/7 Sports to create some sort of high school rankings system across the board in Dynasty and Road To Glory.
Depending on what level recruit you pick, climb your state’s recruiting rankings, position rankings, etc, get NIL deals, commit to a college when ready, decommit if you change your mind and reopen recruitment. These factors in addition to some sort of storyline would give RTG much more long-term playability moving forward. Also, a trophy room, perhaps?
Dynasty Mode is Fine But Needs More
This one is likely a stretch, but you know what I will give it a shot. In my opinion, Dynasty Mode is the best game mode in the game, but it still feels like it is missing something. Recruiting is fine, and they finally made it to where you can edit players, but again the lack of storylines/presentation leaves a lot to be desired. There’s no like look-ins to other games, no highlights from other games going on, and with it being a decade since the last release, technology has improved drastically to the point where this should’ve continued. We at least used to get scoring updates from the broadcast crew at halftime, we can up the ante on that and get a few scoring or turnover highlights. Honestly, this is something Madden should look into as well. But, Dynasty Mode lacks any story, presentation, like even it’s a Heisman update, or something. They’ve got Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Jesse Palmer, Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, and Kevin Connors all on the broadcast crew in the game and spent several hours on content for the game I imagine. Give us more!
Formation Subs
I still haven’t been able to figure this out. I’ve read posts online that there are formation subs, but let’s say there is, it should be much easier to do. A team with a speedster running back and a power back, it should be easier to switch formations and sub in new players between plays. Every team has players that have different skill sets for different scenarios, so it should be easier to switch out players. Especially, since college teams sub pretty frequently during the course of the game. Assigning a specific player to a specific formation would be crucial. Of course, for most gamers this probably isn’t even an issue. This is more for the gamers that watch college football every Saturday, and want the game to reflect as much as we see on the field, in the game as possible.
Classic Teams for Online play
My last one also reflects a past article I wrote on which classic teams I would add to the game. To avoid going too far into history, let’s just focus on what possibilities we have here. 2K Sports added this into NBA 2K, but if you play that think of NBA Era’s. Imagine if EA Sports added a NCAA Era’s where you could start a dynasty with the 2001 Miami Hurricanes, 2005/2006 USC or Texas teams and build their programs from that point. The main difference is instead of picking which draft class like you do in 2K, you can pick recruiting classes. This would require a ton of work from EA Sports, but being able to use Reggie Bush in the 90’s, Jerry Rice in today’s game, Herschel Walker in today’s game, etc. It would mix up the game and add much more dynamic and fun to it. Not to mention, you can use these teams in play now and if you can use classic teams online.
If you could add anything to NCAA Football 26, what would it be?

Five-Year Gaming Cycle
This would improve the games, but the yearly cycle creates too much money for this kind of gap.
